Are you a coffee lover? But maybe your wallet doesn’t appreciate your coffee habit? We have just the fix you’re looking for.
Starbucks is not cheap, but man is it good. We get it! Who doesn’t enjoy a Starbucks fix? That’s a trick question ;)
But boy can it get expensive, especially if you’re having more than one a day. How about Dunkin Donuts? I personally enjoy their coffee more than Starbucks. But again, my wallet doesn’t appreciate it very much. And that’s why we’re here.
Would you be interested if I told you, you could make your own Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts coffee at home, for a fraction of the price? I don’t know about you, but i like keeping as much of my money as I can. And what if I told you it tastes that much better because ITS CHEAP! ;)
So, how can you go about making your own, deliciously, cheap coffee?
Well, my lovelies, lets get right into it!
Starbucks ground coffee and Starbucks k-cups are mostly available at any grocery store you would be shopping at. Obviously ground coffee will serve you many more cups for your buck, but k-cups are affordable as well. Not only are k-cups roughly about $1 a cup, but normally there are coupons or Ibotta deals for money back, making them even cheaper.
Dunkin Donuts also sells grounds which will serve you best, but again k-cups are super affordable, making a cup of coffee less than $1!
If you use a Keurig, you can also buy a reusable filter to put ground filter in, making your coffee cheaper than k-cups but you can still brew it in your keurig! Click here for a list of reusable filters, be sure to check to see that it's compatible with your model of machine.

Now let’s get to the fun stuff. How do you make your coffee taste like heaven? Let’s start with sugar free syrups. Torani or skinny girl. Any other brands are acceptable with proper macros and ingredients. Normally a large bottle of Torani retails for $8, stores that carry the large bottles often have 25% off sales making them $6!
Skinny girl, even cheaper than torani, roughly $4 a bottle. The bottles are smaller which means you get less uses from the bottle but the price makes up for that per use! Sugar free syrups come in all different flavors, that can be mixed matched up to create different flavors in your coffee!
Now lets talk sweeteners. For some, the sugar free syrups are enough, but lets face it, if you want the full starbucks/DD experience you need some sweetener in your coffee. But which ones. Well that’s actually person preference. I personally love Splenda Zero which is sucralose. Emily on the other hand likes stevia and monk fruit! So with most other things, its just finding what works for you and what you like best.
Creamer. The staple to coffee. I’m kidding, only slightly! I personally can do without creamer but lets face it, I don’t like to! So lets look at our options here! Heavy whipping cream, half and half, cashew milk, coconut milk, almond milk, and nut pods! I’m sure there are some others I’m missing but these are tried and true favorites!
Personally I love unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I believe Emily prefers heavy whipping cream. Both of which are excellent options. Just boils down to what fits your macros, and what fits your taste buds!
SO! Let’s put this all together and break it down by price (roughly of course).
I enjoy the French blend grounds, with almond milk, Splenda zero, and my sugar free torani syrups.
So per cup: .59 cents a cup with everything added up and broken down by servings. Pretty cheap! Better than the $4 I would pay starbucks or DD for my coffee!
In fact i could have 8 coffees at home for the same price roughly! That’s a steal!
Emily enjoys the Starbucks k cups, with Prymal creamer and butter. Depending on the type of butter you use changes the price a bit but were gonna use a median price just to be giving.
Price per cup: $1.22 per cup. Prymal creamer is a bit pricey but the heart wants what the heart wants! And again CHEAPER than the $3-$8 one would spend at Starbucks or DD!
So chose wisely for your wallet!
